Parallel vote tabulation for Netra News

A Parallel Vote Tabulation platform for Netra News, built to publish verified results from more than 42,000 polling centers during Bangladesh’s 13th National Parliamentary Election. I led the frontend development using Next.js incremental static regeneration (ISR). The system stayed available through peak national traffic, including 6.7 million edge requests in 12 hours, with no downtime.

Context

Election-night figures from tens of thousands of polling centers have to be published as they are verified. The audience is national. The system cannot go down while people are watching returns.

What I built

I led the frontend engineering of a Parallel Vote Tabulation (PVT) platform for Bangladesh’s 13th National Parliamentary Election, using Next.js and Incremental Static Regeneration (ISR).

I built a highly available data system for tracking verified election results from over 42,000 polling centers.

Outcome

The platform handled 6.7 million edge requests within 12 hours while maintaining a 97% cache hit rate and zero downtime during peak national traffic.
