Carbon footprint calculator, Nordisk Avfallspool

Context

Value-chain emissions live in PDFs and spreadsheets with arbitrary schemas. Sustainability reporting cannot wait on someone to retype them. Nordisk Avfallspool needed a calculator for emissions tracking and reporting that could grow with the business.

What I built — foundation (part-time, Dec 2022 – Aug 2025)

I designed the initial system architecture and laid the technical foundation for the carbon footprint calculator.

I developed the first five production versions of the application, translating evolving business requirements into scalable software solutions.

I collaborated closely with business stakeholders, designers, and clients to define product requirements and iteratively refine the platform.

What I built — lead (Sep 2025 – present)

I led end-to-end the technical development of the calculator for value-chain emissions tracking and sustainability reporting.

I architected a scalable, cost-efficient, and environmentally sustainable system while leading the tech team and collaborating with designers, business stakeholders, and clients.

I designed and developed an agentic AI document extraction system using LangGraph, LangChain, and LLMs to automatically extract structured data from PDFs and Excel files with arbitrary schemas.

Outcome

Under my technical leadership, the project secured an Innovation Grant from Innovation Norway. The product is still shipping.
